Women predominantly carry two wounds that drastically alter the way they show up in their entrepreneurial pursuits: the abandonment + mother wounds.




While guiding women for the past 10 years I’ve noticed a common theme.

And most have no idea that these wounds impact their everyday lives:

- Underlying levels of anxiety that causes exhaustion
- Feeling guilty or like they have done something wrong
- Playing it small even though they want to show up in BIG ways
- Indecisiveness that calls in misaligned energy

Most people carry some sort of wounds of abandonment. The stories may be a bit different, but they carry the same weight.

Ways the abandonment wound can form:

Birth trauma (c-section, separation, incubators)
Being dropped off at summer camp or long overnight stay
Boarding school
Parent’s divorce
Absent (emotionally or physically), sick or deceased parent
Growing up in an emotionally cold environment where it was unsafe to express feelings
Being left alone to cope with uncomfortable emotions
Parents who carry borderline or narcissistic personality traits
Childhood abuse, sexual abuse, or verbal insults

✔️ You often lose control: hyper-reactivity, obsessive thinking, insomnia
✔️ You often lose your voice entirely and not able to set boundaries
✔️ You are concerned about choosing the "right" answer so you defer to other people
✔️ You often feel like things are happening to you and feel a loss of control ("I'm the victim")
✔️ You find relationships & clients that leave because it reinforces the belief that you are not enough





You are really good at leaving people first before they leave you
You feel oversensitive to criticism or feedback
You carry low self worth so you constantly judge yourself and others
You often overreact in conflicts, becoming increasingly dysregulated
You were raised by a mother with narcissistic or borderline personality traits
You are always waiting for the other shoe to drop, searching for the next bad thing
You’ve attracted to toxic relationships because you are used to not having your needs met
You often lose control: hyper-reactivity, obsessive thinking, insomnia, weight loss or gain
You often lose your voice entirely and not able to set boundaries
You can’t make decisions so you defer to other people (codependency)
You often feel like things are happening to you and feel a loss of control
You find people that leave you because it reinforces the belief that you are not enough

And there are many ways abandonment manifests in everyday life:

You are not able to show up as your authentic self for fear of offending her
Your protector parts (i.e., fear and shame, etc.) come out to seem non threatening 
Setting boundaries often comes with a side of guilt
You make a habit of putting people’s needs before your own
You often lack self worth and are really good at playing the comparison game
Your mind often jumps to the worst thing people could be thinking of you
You feel a persistent sense of guilt for wanting more in your life - “I should feel grateful”
You take on the emotional burdens from others as your own- "It's my fault."
You feel a tightness in your chest when you mother calls your cell phone
You often display rigid and judgemental thinking of yourself and others
You’ve experienced depression, anxiety, eating disorders or addictions





Signs of the Mother Wound:

The mother wound is also ubiquitous across society. I want to make it clear that you can still love your mother and carry this wound. Both can be true.



As you can see, many signs of the mother and abandonment wounds overlap.

Step 1: Illuminate

I will guide you through somatic practices to bring awareness to the trapped wounds in your system. To illuminate our wounds we must create a safe and inviting space for our autonomic nervous system. Without a safe foundation it is impossible to go further into the healing process because your protector parts, born from survival, continuously show up and derail healing. Our nervous system is hardwired to protect us from trauma and I will guide you towards befriending the protector parts so that we can help take a step back. Once they feel safe, it is you - the self - that steps forward.

Step 2: Unleash

Once the self - who you really are - begins to step forward and the protector parts of you take a backseat, this is where the MAGIC begins! In this phase of the journey I hold a safe and secure space for you to release negative patterns of energy that holds back you, and potentially your lineage for centuries. I use real time approaches I intuitively feel will be effective - such as somatic parts’ work to heal the inner child, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocess (EMDR) to unstick trauma memories rooted in unhelpful belief patterns, or emotional freedom technique (tapping).

Step 3: Anchor

This is where we integrate the shifts that cause our nervous system to repattern from dysregulation to regulation. By reflecting on the patterns that begin to fall by the wayside, and calling out new patterns that are stepping into the light, I hold space for any grief that comes up in this process. It can be a challenging time to reflect on how far we have come, what we have allowed ourselves to let go of, and to finally feel safe being just the way we are. This is an incredible moment I help you savor and recognize - you did this! Against all odds, you are the one in your lineage to break cycles of generational trauma and change the trajectory of your lineage for centuries to come.
